Clay County Prays for Tennessee

Posted

Organizers of a statewide month-long event that invites communities in every Tennessee county to pray for their communities and the state made a stop in Clay County on Thursday.

That stop included shade trees, singing, praise and worship.

Guest speaker, Clay County Mayor Dale Reagan, quoted the late Pres. Ronald Reagan, during the event.

“If we ever forget we are one nation under God, then we will be a nation gone under,” Reagan shared with members gathered for the prayer event. Local pastors prayed for repentance, churches to unite and for God’s healing in Clay County, Tennessee and the nation.

House Joint Resolution 0803 was passed by the 113th Tennessee General Assembly earlier this year and signed into law by Gov. Bill Lee in April. HJR 803 designates “the period of July 1, 2024, through July 31, 2024, as a time of prayer and fasting in Tennessee and seeks God’s hand of mercy healing on Tennessee.”

The legislation was sponsored by State Rep. Monty Fritts.
